On the 6th of July 2013, Annual General Meeting of SMK Seafield Board of Librarians was held. It took place at Dewan Kenangan and started at 9am sharp. The event was hosted by our fellow librarians Wong Pik Yen, Alanna Wong and Michelle Kang.


Pn Siti Rohana, Pn Tan Geok Siew and our respective President Lee Loong Kuan gave speech during the AGM.





Next the new librarians recited the pledge.

During the prize giving ceremony, outgoing Form 5 and Form 6(upper) Librarians received the certificate of Appreciation. The event continued with interesting performances by the other librarians who had prepared for a long time.





Our former board of librarians also came to visit.


Next it was the announcement of new Top 7 for year 2013/2014. The selected board members were as follow:

On the 25th- 27th of May 2013, Librarians of SMK Seafield organised a Leadership Camp at Kampung Parit Penghulu, Jasin, Malacca. The three days camp was attended by 40 participants including facilitators, two teachers and one Library Angel.
Its objective was to instill leadership qualities and to improve teamwork among the board of librarians. Our President Lee Loong Kuan, Vice President Ivan Khoo and See Pei Er, Secretary Yap Pei Ru and Treasurer Yong Sinyik were chosen to be the facilitators in this camp.
During the camp, several team-building activities were arranged for participants. The programme schedules were as follows:

 On the first day, participants were dividedd into several groups.

 Leader of each group had a clear vision of what they wanted their team to achieve. 

On the second day, morning exercise was carried out. Some survival skills were explained by facilitators and important attributes in producing good leaders were also highlighted.




The last day of the camp was the most memorable part . The Vice President Ivan Khoo shed tears because he was so touched and reluctant to leave the board of librarians.
 Lastly the group Tri Tree became the champion of the camp.
Everyone had a good time during the camp and the bonds between each other became stronger.

On the 8th of April 2013, the library of SMK Seafiled launched an event called Library Week (Minggu Pusat Sumber) that spanned the entire week from 8th (Monday) to 12th (Friday) of April 2013. During the launching of the Library Week,  the librarians of SMK Seafield performed a funny sketch about the many types of books that can be found in the library.








Every day, throughout the week, an activity called "Bacaria Seafield" whereby every day before school starts during the school assembly, every student is required to bring a book to school to read for 20 minutes. This activity is held to encourage reading throughout the student-body.















During The Library Week, the library also hosted many fun and exciting activities all pertaining to the resources and facilities that the Library of SMK Seafield has to offer.

On Wednesday (10.04.2013) the library held a Scrabble Competition in the Self-Access-Learning(SAL) Room from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. for the afternoon session and 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. for the morning session.



On Thursday(11.04.2013) on the other hand the library held a Congkak Competition again in the Self-Access-Learning(SAL) Room from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. for the afternoon session and 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. for the morning session.













Lastly, the library also held a book exhibition in the library. During the exhibition which was held throughout the week from 8.10 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., students were able to browse through a wide selection of books ranging from fiction to non-fiction and even reference books and buy any book that they wanted.
